I've always had a passion for interior design and architecture and how they can inspire and transcend our mood through intelligent, innovative well crafted planning.
Growing up with a Dad who was an architect, I was immersed at a young age in the design process through visits to his studio. Choosing to pursue my own creative route, I enrolled in art school where I graduated with a honours degree in fine art.
I converted my first property ten years ago after leaving university. The last four years, I have concentrated on building up a portfolio of renovation projects on a full time basis. During this time I have gained an in depth knowledge of the design process from inception to completion, site management, liaising with architects/contractors and submitting building applications; with the ultimate aim of delivering spaces that are elegant, functional and on budget.
I approach a project with the intent to build a relationship with the client and understand their desired objective and requirements in the full context of their lifestyle, personal tastes and interests. Using this as a platform, we can then explore and discover ways to create an environment that is tailored to the individual.
Whether it's a single room or you are looking for a whole house interior design service, own a commercial business and are looking to create an unique and exciting space. I will be happy to discuss any project that you may have. As I'm not contracted to a particular manufacturer or supplier, I am free to source products from a range of outlets whether it be bespoke, antique or high street. I also enjoy working with local artists and designers who can create custom designed pieces and original artwork.
I offer a free, nonobligatory consultation service where we can have a friendly chat and discuss what you're looking to achieve. If you're happy to go ahead then an initial deposit is taken. I like to be as transparent as possible so my fee is agreed up front to avoid any hidden surprises. I try to be as hands on as possible which means I can keep the cost down as you're not having to pay for extra trade work. I'm based in Glasgow's west end but happy to travel further a field.
I work alongside Sara Hyde, who I met at art school. Sara has been designing and creating textile pieces for many years and all items are finished to the highest of standards. Using her experience and craftmanship Sara can offer a bespoke design service making handmade cushions, curtains, blinds and other soft furnishings and will be happy to provide advice regarding fabric and style. With the availability of digital fabric printing we can work with you to design a one off fabric print for something a little bit special.
